Privacy Laws and Social Media

Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP’s Peter Vogel says that while the U.S. government doesn’t require privacy laws for Web sites, it does enforce privacy policies belonging to social media sites like Facebook. Vogel says that each time Facebook changes its privacy rules, it gets some pushback. However, when he asks for a show of hands from people to determine if they’ve ever read Facebook’s privacy policies, few people indicate that they do. Gardere Wynne Sewell is a law firm.
